- Have you tried a comma or two before the phone number? This may give the
- dial-tone some time to start.

- Also with my modem there is a command to have the modem dial without even
- listening to the tone it is called "blind dialling" and it is "X0" on my
- Practical Peripherals 28.8, you may want to check your manual.
